Carson's surgery

On January 26th, Carson had to have his tonsils and adenoids removed. He was such a trooper and was so brave. The surgery went well except that he had a hard time coming out of the anesthesia which scared me and Ryan half to death but everything ended up just fine. All of the nurses kept saying what a polite and sweet boy he was. Everything they asked he did with no complaint and he said "thank you" every time they did something for him. The doctor said both his tonsils and adenoids were just HUGE and he didn't know how the poor thing could breathe.
He has also been a great patient at home. :) He's done really well and we can't complain. A couple of nights have been a little rough for him and we're still in recovery mode but it's coming along nicely.
Thank you to all of our friends and family that have stopped by, called and given their well wishes.
We love you little buddy!!!
This is before surgery

This is after surgery, we are anxiously awaiting him waking up!
Going home!!!

Happy Birthday Mom!

For my mom's birthday we went to Incredible Pizza and had a blast! We went on the go karts, played laser tag and played some games. Happy birthday to an awesome mom and grandma. Thanks mom for everything you've taught me. Here's to many more fun-filled years!

Christmas

We had a wonderful Christmas with all of our family. I love the traditions we have and I'm so thankful that we have family to share them with. Every year we spend Christmas Eve at grandma and grandpa Ames' house with all of Ryan's family and on Christmas morning we go to my parents for Christmas breakfast. We look forward to doing these things every year. The best thing about this year was we actually got to spend a lot of time at home on Christmas day. Usually we are running all over the place and we don't have time to just relax, but this year we made sure to do it differently so Carson could enjoy being home playing with his new toys. I think we'll keep that tradition too! :)
This is how we found Chip and Carson on Christmas morning :)

Literally... THE HAPPIEST PLACE ON EARTH!

This year we went to Disneyland when it was decorated for Christmas. I think it is our new favorite time of year to go. It wasn't busy, the decorations were amazing and the weather was awesome! (The first couple of days were a little chilly, but it was so nice the rest of the time) I could go on and on about how much fun we had but the bottom line is we had a BLAST! We can't wait to go back!

Gingerbread Houses

We have a tradition that sometime around Thanksgiving we go to my aunts house and make gingerbread houses with my family. Carson enjoys eating the candy and frosting as much as he does decorating with it. We are grateful for the traditions we have with our families.

Playin' in the snow

Disney on Ice

When I heard Disney on Ice was coming to town I kept talking about how I would love to go. Well my birthday came around and Ryan gave me FRONT ROW tickets to go to it!!! Wahoo! Carson and I went since Ryan had to work and we had a blast! The seats were AWESOME and we saw everything up close. It was neat to see the characters right in front of you and Carson was quick to notice when two of them fell. :) Thanks Ry for the great tickets!!!
