Gone Fishin'...

A couple weeks ago we went to a family reunion in Woodruff where they had a fish pond.
Carson fell in love with fishing! He caught a total of 6 fish and wanted to fish all day.
Then there was an auction of all sorts of things, some old, some new. One item was one of those fish on a plaque things where the fish sings a variety of songs. Well Carson thought he needed to bid on it, and what do you know? He won! He said it was his trophy for catching so many fish! :)

Gateway

Today we went to Gateway to let Carson and his cousin, Ashten, run through the water. What a great way to entertain them. :) The bonus is they can get wet without mom being grossed out about all the kids peeing in the pool. :)

Happy 4th of July!!!

The 4th of July is my favorite holiday. I can't explain why, I just get a great feeling on this holiday. I have so many great memories of this day and I look forward to it every year! There's something about the small town feel of the good 'ole Magna parade and fireworks. Although a lot has changed since when I first started going, we still had a great time! It is a fun day to remember all that we have to be thankful for. We live in a place that we can live our daily lives without the fear that so many others have to face just to survive everyday.Carson and I first went to the parade. Ryan unfortunately had to
work so we picked up Natalie and headed over to sit with Ryan's family. It was such a nice day and I loved that it wasn't too hot! Carson had fun with his cousins gathering all the candy they could. Carson never eats the candy that he gets, so I guess it's just the act of waiting for it and picking it up that is most fun to him. :)

Natalie and I had a great time watching all of the "great" people of Magna with their mullets, too little of clothing and everything in between. Ha ha

Next we went to Grandma and Grandpa Ames house for a BBQ. We had yummy food and a relaxing afternoon. Ryan met us there when he got off of work.
Then Ryan, Carson and I picked up Grandma and Grandpa Ames and headed to the park to let Carson ride some of the rides and to watch the fireworks.
I LOVE fireworks! I must say that I wasn't thrilled that they played music during the firework display this year. There is something about being able to hear and feel the "boom!" and we couldn't quite get that effect with the music. But we still had a great time!

On Sunday, (the actual 4th of July :)), we took Carson outside to do a few fireworks of our own. He was so excited and loved lighting the fireworks with his dad.

I just love our little family and we always have a great time together. Thank you Ryan and Carson for making me the happiest girl! :)
